Katelyn Srnka, 2006 Scholarship WinnerKatelyn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in September of 1988, and moved to The Woodlands, Texas in January of 1997. She attended The Woodlands High School and was 55th in her class of almost 1100 students, and have accumulated 26 hours of AP credit.

Katelyn has played competitive soccer since she was ten years old for both Challenge Soccer Club and Texas Rush Soccer Club, and was a member of the South Texas Olympic Development Team in 2002, where she was chosen as one of the top 30 female athletes in her age group. In junior high, Katelyn played volleyball and ran track. In high school, she was the only student to be named to the varsity soccer team for all four years of her high school career, and was the team captain her senior season.

Katelyn has also been active in the community as a member of National Charity League. For the past six years, she has volunteered over 200 hours, participating in various activities including Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics, and acted as her senior class president this past year.

Katelyn will be pursuing a major in Nursing, and hopes to eventually receive a Master’s Degree and attend nurse anesthetist school.
